Lake Louise Ski Resort Conditions on January 12th

Whitehorn  Gully’s

January 12th 2017

A sunny cold windy day at Lake Louise Ski Resort. Now into week two of bitter cold but still getting out. The pictures today show how beautiful the mountains look with a sparkling clear blue sky. Todays runs were far better than the snow we encountered on Tuesday. The hard blown block snow had softened a bit. All runs were good and it is not often I say I enjoyed the front side down to the Lodge but today was one of those days. Runs taken today. From the Summit Platter Outer Limits 2X, Boomerang to Brown Shirt, Whitehorn 1 to Ridge Run and Rodneys Ridge. Paradise, Big 7 and Paradise Bowl through Fence Line Gully, Upshoots and across to Grizzly Gully. Wow that does not seem like much but there is a lot of elevation in those runs. The snow ranged from ankle powder with a bit of a crust to hard pack with blown in sections.
