Janathon day 2 - An ironically fast run

Today I have had a 3-4 Mile Walk to town and back to meet up with a friend and do a bit of light shopping. A new dress and pair of work trousers later, I was back at home, where I had a slight wobble in my newfound determination to do my janathon duty. I could have been a lazy cow and not ran, but then I remembered that tonight was Sweatshop night, so in addition to my 3-4 mile walk, I've done a 5 mile run as well.

My run was actually quite fun, I ran with someone who I don't usually run with. I used to run with her all the time, but she's way Faster than me now. Tonight was a combination of her taking it easy and me running faster than I thought I was, so we ended up with a 10:40/mi average pace. I'm quite pleased with that. I thought the reason that the run had felt so hard was just because I was really unfit and because I ran nearly 5 miles yesterday too. Turns out it was because I running faster. Awesome. Why is it that every time I head out for a run where I plan on taking it easy, I end up running way faster than I expected? But when I try to run fast, it's really hit and miss? Oh, the irony of it all!

I feel good that I ran today though. Now I've gotten my exercise out of the way, I can safely let my willpower collapse and indulge in the scrummy gammon joint currently cooking in my oven. Ohhhh it smells so good. It's almost indecent, the amount of enthusiasm my body seems to have for gammon at the moment. Maybe I need more iron or something lol. So if you will excuse me, I need to go and unleash my inner cavewoman now and tuck in. Chat tomorrow. x
