Federer, Barty win 2019 Miami Open

Roger Federer has taken home his 101st title at this year’s Miami Open against John Isner. The 37 year old beat Isner in a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday Mar. 31, 2019. Federer also won the BNP Paribas Open tournament against runner up Dominic Thiem a two weeks ago. This year Federer so far is 18-2 which is best on the men’s tour.

In the Women’s Miami Open tournament, Australian tennis pro Ashleigh Barty defeated Czech player Karolina Pliskova on Saturday in a 7-6,(7/1), 6-3 win bringing home the Miami Open title for her biggest singles title of her career. Barty quit professional tennis about 5 years ago but returned in February of 2016.
