Sony Open Gets a New Name: The Miami Open

The Sony Open, one of the most prestigious Tennis tournaments in professional tennis, has changed its name to the Miami Open. The Miami Open is now presented by the largest privately owned bank in Latin America, Itaù.

Itaù will be the sponsor of the tournament now to be known as the “Miami Open presented by Itaù” from 2015 through 2019 and is owned and operated by IMG which is a global leader in sports, fashion and media. The tournament will be played from March 23, 2015 through April 5, 2015 at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Fl.

The tennis tournament will highlight the “Miami” brand in its title accentuating all of what Miami is about, excellent food, luxurious hotels, beautiful beaches and more.
Other sponsors of the tournament include international sponsors like Fed Ex, Bacardi, Rado, TAM/LAM, Mastercard, Nespresso, USANA and SAP, along with others.
