Crossfit is perhaps the most popular form of exercise practiced in Costa Rica these days, yet some still have questions about rumors that is may cause more injuries than other workout and sporting activities.
The discipline came to Costa Rica from the United States about eight years ago and followed through on its promise to change the way Ticos exercise. It’s made exercise fun and motivating.
The Journal of Stress and Conditioning Research featured a study that showed that Crossfit training injury rates are similar to those seen in weightlifting and gymnastics and lower than those seen in contact sports like rugby.
