Moar is Under 25's Champion

Congratulations to Joe Moar who yesterday became the Orkney Under 25's Champion defeating Steven Craigie 7-4 in front of a large viewing audience during the East v West B match.

This tournament was played over 3 months with players arranging their own games up until the final. Both players had tricky routes to the final culminating with Joe beating Steven Skea 6-2 while Steven C defeated defending champion Scott Sinclair 6-3 in the semis.

The final was a great advert for attacking pool enjoyed by the spectators with both players expert potters who look to finish frames off as soon as chances arise. Sadly in such matches there had to be a runner up with Steven having to make do with being part of the winning West B team on the day instead. This was Steven's 3rd singles final of the season having also made it to the Under 30's and Under 23's finals, a unique feat even more impressive as he was the youngest player in each of these fields, trophies will inevitably follow in the years to come. The win was Joe's first Orkney Singles Title 🏆 and capped a fantastic week for him having played a starring role in his teams league winning match earlier in the week.

Thanks to all players who took part in this competition, the future of Orkney Pool looks to be in very good hands
