I have a child of 5 (well I did until today when he turned 6) and it chills my Heart to think of something happening to him like it has to the little girl in St Helens who has been mauled to death by a "Pitbull type dog".

I also have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has been a family pet for over 9 years and is the most lovely natured dog. But I just know that following this tragic incident, these dogs are all going to get lumped together as one and our poor dog will be tarred with the same brush as these awful fighting dogs.

This person was allegedly warned about his dog, when if the dangerous dog act had been left exactly how it was meant to be, the dog would have been destroyed when the owner was first warned at that beautiful little girl would still be alive today.

My heart goes out to her family and my best wishes for her grandmother to get better soon.
