Millennials Redux

A few days ago I wrote a post called "Entitled Millennials." As usual, my goal was to amuse, enlighten and in some rare cases alert my readers. On a good day I might even spark a few laughs. Certainly my goal is never to offend anyone! Even when I denigrate fat people, which I do with regularity, it is with the hope that they will see the light and understand that obesity is bad for their health, not to mention a drag when shopping for clothes or fitting into an airplane seat, and decide to slim down. However it has come to my attention that my post about millennials actually hurt the feelings of people I know and dearly like and would never purposely offend. For that I apologize.

In my own defense, I never thought that the unnamed subjects of the post would ever get wind of it. And they wouldn't have ever, were it not for the mother of the groom reading it (who knew she reads this?) and sending it to her son, who is now pissed at me! Bad move on the mother's part, and not one I would have made. My guiding principle concerning my offspring has always been to shield him from all pain -- physical, emotional and spiritual -- whenever possible. (Yes, he is a millennial.)

I only hope the newlyweds don't break the bowl I sent them as a wedding gift out of spite. But who knows what a millennial might do? Only time will tell.
