Johnnie Walker is taking a break from BBC Radio 2 for medication for a heart condition.
The 73 -year-old will step down from The Rock Show and Sound Of The 70 s “for a number of weeks”, the terminal said.
Announcing the information on Twitter, his wife Tiggy promised supporters he would be back at work soon.
“The good information[ is] he’ll be even better where reference is returns with all that Additional Oxygen gushing round his form, ” she wrote.
