Armed Police officer helped to save a peckish gerbil which had been abandoned when its owner went to jail.

Derbyshire Police said an armed response gang attended in order to cure addition quick access to the quality in Allestree, Derby.

Derby City Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said here swine was “thankfully still alive but very hungry” after left alone for a few weeks.

The gerbil was taken to the veterinarian and the RSPCA was attending for it, police said.
