Moscow( CNN) Paul Whelan, the US citizen accused of espionage in Russia, are located in owned of restricted information when he was arrested in Moscow, his state-appointed advocate told CNN on Tuesday.
Before his arrest, Whelan had been given a thumbs driving which he belief contained trip photo, Zherebenkov said. Whelan did not scrutinize the the flash run before his arrest and was not aware it contained classified information, the Lawyer said.
Whelan “does not admit guilt, ” he said.
