‘Star Trek: Discovery’ actor Wilson Cruz strikes back at homophobic fans

Cruz has plenty of know dealing with this kind of response. Better known for his breakout role as Rickie Vasquez in My So-Called Life , he was just out as lesbian when he was 19 years old. Since then, he’s been a check advocate for LGBTQ visibility, seeing him an ideal option for this persona in Discovery — just like his onscreen partner Anthony Rapp, who determines as queer.
