Nit Sprong (1963-Present) Part 5

                        Nit Sprong (1963-Present) Part 5

1979-2000: As a condition of being allowed to drop out of school, Nit took a part-time job at Dempie's department store. When she wasn't working, she wrote songs and performed at various festivals. Before too long, Nit came to the attention of Stunt Stillabower, a local talent scout. Stunt's father, Slap Stillabower, was the founder and president of Hip-A-Titus Records, so Stunt had been around the music business all his life.
Stunt had just been released from jail after serving eleven months for supplying illegal testosterone supplements to the Pee-Wee League football team that his father's record company sponsored. Slap had put his son in charge of the team, and Stunt wanted to impress his dad with a winning record. Halfway through the season the team was undefeated, but suspicion was aroused when Stunt's hormone-frenzied players not only tackled the other kids, but also took one of their nostrils as a trophy.
The first time Stunt heard Nit sing was at a fundraising event for wobbly children. Before her opening song was finished, Stunt was overwhelmed by her talent. After the show, Stunt introduced himself to Nit and insisted that she audition for his father. The next week, Nit went to see Slap Stillabower at the record company. For her audition, Nit sang two of her own songs, "You Give Me Love Cramps", and "Every Time I Think Of You, I Have A Baby". Slap offered her a record deal on the spot.
