Season 25 of The Voice has drawn to a close, and in honor of the momentous occasion, the contestants sang with their respective coaches. One particular standout performance came from Reba McEntire, who was joined by finalist Josh Sanders to sing her song “Back to God.”

The season 25 finale of The Voice aired in two parts. The first part aired on Monday, May 20, at 8 p.m. ET. The second half went live on NBC on Tuesday, May 21 at 9 p.m. ET. Although Sanders was not the ultimate winner this season, a contestant from Team Reba did take home the crown.

By the end of the season, Team Reba was comprised of Asher HaVon and Josh Sanders. With Sanders, she sang “Back to God,” which comes from her 2017 album Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. Sanders himself has a strong background in expressing his faith, as a pastor himself.

McEntire’s other team member was Asher HaVon. Similarly, he is a gospel singer. Primarily, though, he is known for his powerful performances of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable.”
‘The Voice’ has crowned its season 25 champion
The Voice had an impressive final lineup as the dust settled. Sanders, a father of four, had judges won over since his audition and won the hearts of viewers everywhere with his performance of “Whiskey On You.” He did so well that McEntire, the Queen of Country, even called him a “perfect country singer.” Other standout performances by Sanders include “When It Rains It Pours” by Luke Combs and “Black Water” by the Doobie Brothers.
Meanwhile, Team Legend featured Nathan Chester and Bryan Olesen. Team Dan + Shay uplifted Karen Waldrup. However, Chance the Rapper did not have any contestants to bring to the final leg of the program.

Season 25 wrapped up by crowning Asher as the season’s victor; Asher is also the first openly LGBT winner of The Voice. “I am so proud to be a part of that community, and I just pray that everything that I’ve done on this show has inspired them all that they can do the same thing,” HaVon told Entertainment Tonight after the big win. HaVon sang “On My Own” with McEntire.
Waldrup placed fifth, Chester fourth, Olesen second, and Sanders in second. Who was your favorite talent of this season?
