Beetlejuice star Geena Davis is a mother of three kids, Alizeh, Kaiis, and Kian, from her previous marriage to Reza Jarrahy. The 68-year-old film star rarely attends events with her kids. However she often gushes about how much they inspire her.

During the recent Big Screen Achievement Awards event at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, Geena admitted to being “technology dependent” on her kids, who graciously take their time to put her through, adding that they are “really interested in social issues” as well.

Geena not only executes her role as an actress flawlessly, but she is also awesome at being a mom. To create a better headway for her kids, Geena became an activist in Hollywood, establishing the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media in 2004 to fight gender inequality in the film industry.

The actress is surprisingly glad that neither Alizeh nor the twin boys have shown interest in the entertainment industry. However, she is open to the possibility. Alizeh is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the music industry and cinematic arts at the University of Southern California. At the same time, Kaiis attends the University of Washington, where he is an Alpha Delta Phi fraternity member.

Geena Davis on parenting

Geena has been intentional about being a parent, as she deliberately waited until her forties to have kids. She has no regrets about her decision and credits her parents for modeling a healthy mother-and-child relationship to her while growing up. In an interview, she revealed to Daily Mail that she hoped she would still have children when she was ready and “more evolved” as a person.

Geena admitted to battling with low self-esteem, which deterred her from having kids early for fear of reproducing the same problem in them. In her words, she “could easily have become one of those mothers who over involve themselves and try to live life through their kids” if she had them in her twenties or thirties.
