First 'Truman's Topics!' (Lame name I know)

The early hours of Sunday 2nd June 2013:

Having just finished watching Avatar and not being able to sleep anytime soon I thought I would begin to write a blog. I hope it'll be regularly updated with short snippets of news, opinions and random crap which will hopefully give you a more informal way of updating your own knowledge of the world or digesting someone else's.

Kelly Brook is an obscenely attractive woman.

Doctor Who News: Matt Smith has announced he will be leaving the show as the character is scheduled to regenerate during the 2013 Christmas Special. I'm sure that's big news for Doctor Who fans. Personally, I couldn't care less because David Tennant is the only Doctor for me and it isn't something that features largely in my life. That said, I thought I would include something given that it's big news.

Good, that's that covered. The dull TV news is out of the way.

Sport

The Lions kicked off their tour in stunning fashion smashing the Barbarians 59-8. Eight tries scored in an encouraging display of rugby in preparation for their upcoming tests against the Wallabies on 22nd June, 29th June and 6th July. Personally, I'm excited about what this Lions side could achieve this summer (just a shame about the amount of Welsh players who have made it).

A similar theme flows into The Ashes which starts Wednesday 10th July. Yet more home nation success in the cricket could follow a Lions tour victory.

Non-sporty people probably shouldn't read this blog that often. I'm a bit of a sports-fanatic. Well, I talk about it a lot. Doing it is a different matter.

News

A second man was charged with the senseless murder of Lee Rigby earlier - a Topic that doesn't need to be highlighted any further.

Ashraf Islam today pleaded guilty to making death threats towards Prince Harry. Can't help thinking that both Prince Harry and Islam (this man and the religion) are finding it hard to stay out of the headlines, and are in them for the wrong reasons.

The news isn't that funny. Shame really.

Other

Kieran Pole has a gaming channel on Youtube called K-Game. Check it out - it features myself and Tom Cairns too: http://www.youtube.com/user/KGaming2013?feature=watch

Today's joke: How does a lion like his meat? ROAR!

If I get a decent number of hits I'll do another one of these. Could be a one-off though. Thanks for reading!
