This is a short video I put together after much research about the early days of Ruth Gordon. It was the story of why she had both her legs broke. Ruth Gordon was an amazing person!

STRAIGHTENED—Because her bow legs hampered her in her profession, Miss Ruth Gordon, actress, consented to have them broken and reset. The operation, according to reports from Chicago, where it was performed, was a complete success, and Miss Gordon will be able to reappear on the stage after a few weeks in a wheelchair.
