HOUMA, LA – Thirteen Family members and several transients watched in disbelief Saturday afternoon when Lawrence “Larry” Munzac was burned alive at a Family Picnic in Oblivion City Park. Fire fighters said Mr. Munzac was literally cooked in front of frightened family and friends. Transient Bill Jones watched the spectacle as he stood behind the public restrooms. “I heard a big whoosh sound and I thought maybe the cops were running into the toilets. I climbed out the back window and that’s when I saw that man burning alive. It was like nothing I seen before.” Another transient, Bob Jones (no relation) said he was sleeping next to the entrance to the park when he heard a big whoosh sound. “I thought it might be the cops so I started running. Then I looked over and saw that man all ablaze. I thought maybe somebody would try to help, but all those people just stood there and watched him burn. He fell down and kept burning until the fire department arrived and put out the flames. Then he smoldered.” The Daily Rash spoke with several of the kids at the family picnic.
