Lady Lynda dressed in a flower print short sleeved scooped neck lavender conservative cinched brocaded dress quickly scans the people there for her lecture. She tells them the talk will be on how to spot business scams. She walks steadily on stage in her shiny mary jane style pumps. She tries to breath easy as she reminds herself this is her first lecture on her new newbies series.
The woman spoke in stentorian tones. “There are ways to tell if a biz op is a scam First if you don’t know biz op is short for business opportunity. First thing you need to do is do a search for name of the program.com then the word scam. For example and this is a made up name. makememewealthy.com scam. Did an SE search. Didn’t find such site. By the way SE stands for search engine. I diligently searched the major ones. That means I did my search up to three pages of listings. Type in the url and then the word scam to discover the truth.
There are web sites that give reviews of different programs and services Some include consumers reviews. A couple of these are reviewopedia.com, leadsleap.com and sitejabber.com Most come with search capabilities too.
“Andy O’Donnell a writer for “Livewire.com” wrote a very helpful, informative article to how to spot a scam. First he states as does many other antiscam sites “If it sounds too good to be true” Then he goes on to write it probably isn’t that great program. He states most scams involve money. Well he didn’t specifically mention it I thought of that dastardly notorious Nigerian scam. I still recall and far from fondly my first encounter with this perfidious fraud site. Pardon me while I hyperventilate. I get so emotional when I think back on those dark times in my life. I felt quite perplexed why such important officials would email little ol’ me. To be fair the vast majority of Nigerians are not part of this dastardly scheme.
Lady Lynda wipes the sweat off her brow as she tries to focus on her talk. She breaths deeply to steady her nerves and continues on. It was then from searching the net I discovered the Nigerian scam is one of the worst ones out there You can lose your savings, your freedom, ie be charged with a crime and even….your life. While most scammers aren’t not that cruel its best to not be a victim of scams. Losing a lot of cash is still something you don’t want or need. As my mom said you need to lose lots of money like a hole in the head”
the woman then paused for moment to collect her thoughts. Then a moment later she was met with thunderous applause from her grateful listeners.
