Cheap and affordable places to live in Nairobi

Nairobi city is a beautiful place. But getting a good Nairobi neighborhood can be a bit tricky. You need to look at the security in the area and more so affordability. You also have to look at the traffic jam in Nairobi and how easy it is to access Nairobi CBD.

  1. Pangani: cheap rental houses in Nairobi

Pangani is a Nairobi neighborhood that is located close to Ngara and CBD. You can easily commute to Westlands as well and access to Thika road.

The housing is quite affordable with a wide range of flats and houses to rent. The biggest problem is traffic as the Thika road traffic can quickly pile up in a matter of minutes.

But all the same the short distance to the CBD and Westlands makes up for it.

  1. TRM Thika road

The only reason I am including TRM Thika road is because of the affordability and access to amenities. If you live in this part of Nairobi you do not have to Access town at all. There are so many malls and public amenities and cheap rental houses in Nairobi. You can also find the best romantic places in nairobi to visit here.

You can also use many routes to access other parts of Nairobi such as Kiambu and Westltands making it a great Nairobi neighborhood.

  1. Ruaka: affordable places to live in Nairobi

Ruaka is quite a distance from either Westlands or Nairobi CBD and can experience some traffic when you want to access the CBD. However, like TRM it has all the amenities you may need and you do not have to go anywhere else to access them. The best part about living in Ruaka is that the housing is affordable. Making it one of the best cheap rental houses in nairobi.

  1. Muthiga and 87 along waiyaki way

Many Kenyans would not be caught dead living past Kinoo. But the truth is this is purely on the reputation that it is a thief den. But the times have changed and the area has developed quite remarkably. 87 is located before Kinoo and has developed in a middle-class area where you can get great and affordable housing.

While Muthiga just sprouted after Kinoo and just like 87 has developed into one of the best places to live in Nairobi.

  • Price: OK
  • Traffic: OK
  • Security: average
  • Amenities: few
  1. Rongai

Rongai has a reputation for a place that suffers from traffic. But after the Langata road was expanded, this problem has greatly reduced. Rongai is a town by itself and has everything you need in the area.

Pricing of the houses makes Rongai one of the most affordable places to live in Nairobi.

  • Price: great
  • Security: Ok
  • Traffic: OK
  • Amenities: many
