How do both branded and local LNBs work for DD Freedish?

A Satellite TV LNB (low-noise block-down converter) is a device used in satellite television systems (DD Freedish) to receive and convert satellite signals into a form that can be received by Freedish set-top boxes. An LNB is usually mounted on a satellite dish antenna, and its main function is to pick up TV broadcast signals sent by satellite and convert those signals into a lower frequency range that can be easily transmitted via coaxial cable to a receiver.

So let's first understand how each Universal Ku-Band LNB works.

Here's how LNB works:

Signal reception

A good LNB receives the signal from the satellite, which is mounted on your satellite dish. Your DD Freedish's antenna collides with the satellite's signals and collides with the LNB. That means LNB gets signals which process is called signal reception.

Conversion of Frequency:

As soon as the LNB of this DD Freedish receives the signals, the LNB includes a mixer that receives the high-frequency signals received from the satellite and converts them to the low-frequency range. This downconversion process lowers the frequency of the signal to a range suitable for transmission through cables to the set-top box.

Amplification:

The same LNB also includes a low-noise amplifier (LNA) that boosts the power of satellite signals while keeping noise levels low. This helps maintain the signal quality during transmission and improves the overall performance of the satellite system.

Polarization Control:

A good and branded LNB has the ability to control the polarization of the signals received from the satellite. Satellite signals are usually broadcast with specific polarizations, either horizontal or vertical. The LNB can adjust its polarization settings to match the polarization of the incoming signal.

Multiple Outputs:

Many LNBs have multiple outputs so that multiple set-top boxes can be powered from a single LNB. Each output can be connected to a separate DD Freedish set-top box, allowing viewers to watch different channels on different TVs simultaneously. In which only one dish antenna and only one LNB are installed.

So you must have understood how an LNB plays a vital role in a satellite TV system by receiving the signal and capturing and processing the same signal for distribution to all DD Freedish set-top boxes. It makes sure that these DD Freedish signals are converted to the proper frequency range and then the set-top box converts those signals into audio and video to present on your TV.

So that's why always use branded LNB because it controls polarization well, increases the power of signals, that is, amplifies, and also receives TV signal reception like local LNB and also converts that frequency well.
