5 Lesser Known Bollywood Movies of 2017 That You Need To Check Out!

A lot of amazing movies came out of Bollywood this year, but many of them got lost under the radar. We bring to you these 5 fantastic Bollywood Movies from 2017 that you’ve probably missed!

1) The Ghazi Attack

War films are not common in Bollywood and making one on a relatively unknown attack was a daunting task. But this Film had it all.            Shot splendidly, in what appears to be a submarine coupled up with excellent performances, it was a well made film. Released in Hindi and Telegu it couldn’t even manage to recover the whole production cost in its entire run.

2)Haraamkhor

From the very beginning this film was in the news due to its bold content. After a lot of legal disputes, the film was finally released. It is about a love triangle where a married teacher has an illicit affair with her student, Sandhya who is at the same time being wooed by her classmate Kamal. Nawzazuddin is brilliant as always. The film is shot brilliantly from the perspective of the two kids in Sandhya’s class. This is one film surely not to be missed.

3) Trapped

Imagine if you are locked on the 35th floor of an uninhabited apartment with no food, water or even electricity. This epic survival film received a standing ovation when it was showcased at the Mumbai Film Festival. It was released theatrically in March 2017 but couldn’t muster much on the box office as it struggled to even equal its production cost in collections. Watch it for probably the best performance of Rajkumar Rao’s career, yet. It is also a defining film for Motwane as he continues to do magic with complete silence.

4)Poorna

On 25th May,2014 Poorna Malavath, aged just 13 years and 11 months became the youngest girl ever to reach the summit of Mt. Everest.

Poorna, the film is a fitting tribute to her courage and belief. Credit to Rahul Bose for choosing a relatively tough topic to make a film on. It’s a lesson for everyone that believes that without good CGI inspiring films cannot be made. Although all the potential went to dust as it was a box office dud.

5) A death in the Gunj

Konkona Sen’s directorial debut is a finely crafted film, set in McCluskieganj, roughly 60 kilometers away from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi.

A Death in the Gunj is a coming of age story that centers around Shutu, our protagonist, and his conflicted ideas of masculinity. It got thumbs up from nearly all the critics but didn’t last long in the theaters.

Although not commercial successes, these films have some amazing content. They deserve a look!
