10 Best Things To Do in San Francisco During Your Business Trip

San Francisco, the thirteenth largest city in the United States, boasts a few things including some of the best chefs and the most popular restaurants on the planet. The city rose to fame back in 1849 when it became the home of the California gold rush. This made it the largest city on the West Coast at the time.

San Francisco is a beautiful city with thousands of visitors pouring the streets every year, especially for work. With an abundance of many accommodation options in the city make sure to find a convenient lodgement so you can enjoy everything this vibrant city has to offer

Here are ten ways to spend your time in this amazing city.

Go across the famous Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge was constructed during the Great Depression. At the time, business was surprisingly good in San Francisco such that not a single bank failed.

The bridge was declared one of the modern wonders of the world in 1937. It is the longest suspension bridge in the world, surpassing over 4,200 feet. Some people refer to it as the ‘bridge that could not be built’ because there were so many doubts on whether it would be possible to build a bridge stretching that long.

Today, the Golden Gate Bridge is the most photographed bridge across the world and an iconic symbol that’s synonymous with San Francisco. It would be a shame if you visited San Francisco and failed to go across it.

Take a walk in Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is San Francisco’s biggest park. It drapes more than 1000 acres of the city’s downtown and spreads over more than 50 city blocks.

There are many things you can do at this park. This includes simply enjoying the view while having a picnic, visiting the California Academy of Sciences, or exploring the Victorian greenhouse, with over 800 butterflies.

Discover modern art at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is a perfect place to rediscover what inspires you. The Museum particularly focuses on modern art and houses impressive collections. It is one of the largest of its kind in the world, with a pretty stunning interior.

It’s often said that we are all artists in our unique way. We recommend spending an hour or two at the museum to try and discover your artistic side.

Wine Country Tours

Spring comes with mild weather that allows you to go outdoors after months of taxing winter cold. Why not take advantage of this weather while in San Francisco to visit Napa and Sonoma wine countries?

A guided tour will save you the trouble of having to drive yourself and trying to piece everything together. Enjoy the beautiful views and sample top-notch vino.

Discover the 16th Avenue Tiled Stairs

The 16th Avenue tiled stairs, or Moraga stairs as they are otherwise known, is a community project that was started in 2003. The project was aimed at beautifying the Golden Gate Heights neighborhood by making mosaics in a sea-to-star theme going up a 163 steps stairway.

These steps are well known by the locals but are often overlooked by visitors. If photography excites you, the 16th Avenue Tiled Stairs offers a perfect photo opportunity.

Visit San Francisco Chinatown

San Francisco Chinatown is the largest of these towns outside Asia and the oldest in North America. If you love to explore culture and history, this neighborhood will give you the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Here, you’ll find the Dragon Gate which is the official Chinatown entrance on Bush Street. Further in Stockholm Street are markets that sell Chinese products to make you forget you are in the U.S.

Tour Twin Peaks

Trying to get the perfect view of San Francisco? Visit Twin Peaks for breathtaking views and sunsets. Twin peaks are the second-highest hills in San Francisco with 180° views of the beautiful city.

They are open between 5 am and midnight and are free to visit. You can park your car at the parking lot at the top or use the walking trail if you are up for some physical activity.

Visit Alcatraz Island

Do you enjoy some mystery? The Alcatraz Island, which is nicknamed The Rock, was formerly a military prison, a fort, and a maximum-security federal penitentiary before being abandoned in 1963.

Some of its famous prisoners include George ”Machine Gun” Kelly, Al Capone, and Robert Stroud, The Birdman of Alcatraz.

Take a ride in a cable car

Cable cars are one of the oldest forms of transport in San Francisco. They’ve been on the streets of this city from as early as 1873.

Cable cars may not be as famous as modern cars but they make a huge part of San Francisco’s history and charm.

The Land End Trail

If you enjoy hiking, the Land End Trail will be an enjoyable experience worth pursuing. The trail is not that strenuous which means most people will find it easy to conquer. It would be advisable to have a good pair of walking shoes on.

Nature lovers will be treated to a taste of the city’s eucalyptus and cypress trees and a spectacular view of The Golden Gate Bridge.
