5 of the Most Beautiful Places to Visit in Washington

The state of Washington is the second-most populated state on the West Coast of the US. Washington has a mountainous terrain and is home to a variety of natural wonders. The five most beautiful places to visit in Washington are the Snoqualmie Falls, North Cascades National Park, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Olympic National Park, and the San Juan Islands. Let’s learn a little more about each!

Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls is located at the halfway point between the cities of Snoqualmie and Fall City. This famous waterfall made its television debut on the popular show Twin Peaks. Visitors can be one with nature and hike through nature trails at the bottom of the falls. Feel the mist on your face while you enjoy the shade of enormous stunning trees. When you’re done head on down to the visitor center for some refreshments and souvenirs!

North Cascades National Park

North Cascades National Park is located in Northern Washington. If glaciers are your thing, this is your dream destination! The Park is home to more than half of all glaciers in the Continental United States! Even if you’re not a fan of glaciers, the North Cascades National park is great location for alpine climbing and backcountry camping. During the summer, visitors can hike and bike down trails in the park and enjoy the view of Mount Baker. Mount Baker is a volcano located within the Park and offers a superb view of Mt. Shuksan. Taking pictures is a must when visiting!

Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument

Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument is located in southwest Washington. This historic site commemorates the volcanic eruption of 1980. The Johnston Ridge Observatory is a great place for visitors to enjoy spectacular views of the north side of Mount St. Helens. And for something even more exciting to do, check out Hillsboro Aviation, where they take you in the sky to see the majestic views and a dip into the crater itself.

Olympic National Park

The mountainous terrain of Olympic National Park is the home of the Hoh Rainforest. If you’re up for a challenge, hike to the summit of Mt. Olympus. Or, if you’re trying to relax and enjoy the scenery, take a stroll down Hurricane Ridge or the bluffs of Cape Flattery. If you’re looking for a scenic route to drive along, try driving down the Coastal Strip. Lake Crescent isn’t just your average lake; it has clear blue water and captivating views.

San Juan Islands

In the northern part of Washington you will find the San Juan Islands, snuggled up next to British Columbia. Even though these islands are so close to Canada, they are owned by the US. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, the San Juan Islands are your Washington escape! If you enjoy watching sea life in their natural habitat, spend the day touring around the ocean in search of orca!

Vacation Ready

Everyone knows to pack clothes, but no vacation is complete without photos and videos to share with everyone back home. Make sure that your phone has the features needed to quickly nab high-quality footage of the orca whales. You don’t want to miss a whale sighting because your smartphone is old! There are plenty of AT&T stores in Washington that can help you with your current phone or allow you to purchase a new one so that you don’t miss out on photo and video ops.

Washington is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you are hiking up a mountainous trail or whale watching, you’ll always have something to do when you visit Washington!
