A successful Data Cabling project require certain guidelines which when properly followed can you’re your Network Secure and strong for years to come. Whether installing voice, data, or CCTV, these guidelines with certainly be helpful for a successful installation:

Always plan your project: Planning is critical for any project.  Do not just start a keeping project without any planning. Always create a floor plan, marked the areas that these to be cabled and get it approved from your client. Properly marked the pathways for the Cable to ensure there is no ambiguity or confusion down the line. Work with the correct design and make sure all the cable lengths are within the specified range and do not exceed the limits as per the cabling standards.

Always choose good quality equipment: with the data cabling, you cannot compromise on quality. Always make sure you choose the proper cabling equipment which conforms to the cabling standard. Do not use aftermarket or cheap products which can prove fatal for any office network. Always prefer to use branded products as they are fully tried and tested. Say no to low-grade network cabling components.

Think for future accommodations: data cabling is not a one-time job for any project. With any business growth, you will see a lot of changes or additions of data runs down the line and therefore you would need to plan your cabling considering future accommodations. Make sure the network has accommodation for future growth and additional cable runs. For example, if you are running a conduit for six cables, make sure that conduit is able to accommodate at least four more cable runs for future. Likewise, if your network currently supports 20 data cables, go with a 48 Port Patch Panel and not 24 port patch panel.

Watch out for external interferences: if you are running copper cables which are passing through electromagnetic interferences, you need to make sure the cables are shielded because copper cables are prone to electromagnetic interferences. You therefore need to either on a fiber-optic cable or shielded copper cables. Likewise, if you are running five or outside, make sure the fibers is rated for outdoor environment.

Test the connections: once you are done with your cabling project, make sure all the data points are thoroughly tested and certified. Also, be very sure that all the cable runs and terminations are well marked and labelled. Do the same for CCTV Installations too.

The cabling system is one of the largest part of telecommunications system and is also the most expensive and therefore must be carefully handled for a stable network.
