From Home Alone to Mean Girls, each of our favorite movies has one thing in common: a place of residence. When we think of these movies, the homes sometimes feel just as important as the characters themselves. Can you imagine if Regina George didn’t live in that mega-mansion with her parents master bedroom all to herself? Or if Kevin wasn’t sleeping in the attic, would he have heard the commotion going on downstairs when his whole family rushed off to the airport without him?

While some of these iconic homes are completely fictional or built on a studio lot with nothing inside used for filming purposes only, some are real fully-functioning homes that regular people live in. You can visit them, take pictures of them, and pretend for just a moment like you are in your favorite movie.

If you’re a Harry Potter lover, you can visit the original home used in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone near London, England. Fans of The Brady Bunch series and its many spin-offs can visit that iconic home in North Hollywood, California. In fact, HGTV just snatched this home off of the market for a new series set to be called A Very Brady Renovation. The series will premiere in Fall of 2019 and follow the restoration of the house to its former ‘70s glory. However, If gore and terror is your thing, the Amityville Horror house is located in Amityville, New York.

Romantic comedy lovers can visit George Banks’ home from Father of the Bride in Pasadena, California. These fictional Airbnb listings by Empire Today gives us a look into what it would cost to rent out this home and many more for a night. As it turns out, this iconic home will be relatively affordable at $400 for a 4 bed 4 bath compared to some of the other Airbnb listings. Some listings, like the manor belonging to Bruce Wayne, or otherwise known as Batman, will cost an arm and a leg at $8,000 per night. Just under that is Jay Gatsby’s mansion from The Great Gatsby. His pad will run you $5,200 a night which is arguably a steal considering how luxurious it is, not to mention its size.

Although it’s not possible to spend the night in a majority of our favorite Movie Homes, you can make those wishes come true if you’re a fan of A Christmas Story. The house is open all year and is available for public tours and overnight stays.

For all other real-life Famous Movie Homes, it’s important to remember that they are private property. The owners know their home attracts fans and tourists from all over and have many strict rules in place. It’s okay to stop and relish in the home for just a moment, but be respectful of the owner’s property.
