10 COZY NORDIC SLIPPERS

Now that summer is over and the hygge season finally starts, it is the perfect time to talk about cozy Nordic slippers – an essential home item for Scandinavians when the temperatures drop.

After living abroad I have learned that not everyone takes off their shoes when they enter the home (which to me as a Norwegian is quite shocking to discover.) Here in Italy, most people seem to wear their outdoor shoes inside, something you would never find a Scandinavian do. As soon as we enter the home we take off our shoes, and if it’s a bit chilly we put on our Slippers or woolly socks to keep warm. I’m intrigued to hear how it is in the country where you live; do you take off your shoes or keep them on when you get home?

If you are team ‘take off your shoes and get your hygge on’, here is a selection of 10 cozy Nordic slippers:

1 Cato slippers by Jysk

I recently had a browse through Jysk and found these comfy and cozy slippers which ended up in the basket and home with me. These are affordable and stylish Scandinavian-style slippers which are perfect when it’s this in-between time (not too cold yet) since they are not that thick.

2 Warm-lined slippers by H&M

H&M is another affordable place to find great slippers. These ones, in soft velour with faux fur linings and insoles to keep the feet warm, look great for chilly winter days.

3 Ribbed cashmere slippers by COS

A bit more of a costly purchase, these luxurious slippers from COS are crafted from 100 per cent cashmere that is extra soft. They have rounded toes with leather soles and come in beige and off-white. Made for cozy moments at home.

4 Fluffy slides by & Other Stories

These ankle-high slippers have a classic Scandi look. Made of soft and warming sheepskin, the Jessica slippers from Shepherd of Sweden have a wide collar, decorative stitching at the front and fabric binding around the sole. Available in a ray of colours.

6 Pile spillers by Arket

Cozy indoor footwear for long mornings and lazy days, these slippers are made with a fluffy pile upper crafted from 100 per cent recycled polyester. The lining consists of cotton and the sole of durable leather, ensuring comfortable wear. These are actually made from plastic waste! And they look extra hyggelig when paired with woollen socks.

7 Slipper by Egos Copenhagen

Available in a large selection of colours, these slippers are made of natural sheep´s wool. Wool is the perfect material for indoor shoes – your feet will never feel too hot or too cold. The slippers have a double sole of felt that makes it extra comfortable and pleasant. The outer sole is suede. These slippers by Egos Copenhagen are handmade in Nepal.

8 Henrik slippers by A.Andreassen

Luxurious Italian-made slippers made from soft suede and lined with cozy shearling by Norwegian brand A.Andreassen. The compact wool sole is light and breathable but has been treated with a special finish to give grip on smooth floors, it also has a discreet rubber heel for extra traction. In the Scandinavian tradition, this elegant design combines traditional shoe-making techniques and high-quality natural materials for a slipper that is as well-made as it looks.

9 Amelia slippers by Läst

Fashionable and cozy slippers from Läst. The upper polyester fabric is quilted with 100% wool shearling lining for great comfort, and the slippers have an upper casing with string to adjust the fitting around the foot. They remind me of snow-boots, so wearing these can make you feel like you are out in the Nordic winter.

10 Art. 10 Warm Fur slippers by Topaz of Norway

I love the look of these classic Scandi slippers with a retro style. These soft and comfortable slippers are thick and made of 100 per cent synthetic fur. The Art.10 Warm Fur slippers are by Topaz of Norway developed in cooperation with Mørepels.
