Things you never thought you’d have to clean until you had kids

Let’s be honest – most of the people don’t consider performing domestic Cleaning procedures as something entertaining. However, you haven`t experienced its full capacity until you had children. When you don’t have kids you primarily clean after yourself. The efforts are usually basic and you try to maintain a general good condition of your home. However, the things are different when you become a mother. On Daily Basis you will try to identify the origin of the kid’s mess and think of ways to get rid of the stains. Check some of the biggest surprises you are about to encounter (or you already have encountered) when you are being a Mom.

  • Newborns are inevitably followed by never-ending piles of laundry on daily basis. Many people wonder how these tiny people are able to make such huge messes despite the fact that they can’t talk, walk or roll over. Being a mother will make you understand why people that have newborns constantly complain about great amount of extra laundry. Your little one will spit Baby Food, throw it and pretty much do everything besides from actually eating it. The worse part is that stains don’t stay only on baby’s clothes – baby food can be found on your clothes, fabrics, carpets and upholstery. How to deal with a baby food stain on your rug? Before calling the professional carpet cleaners try this method! First of all try blotting up the stain with paper towel but don’t rub it – you will just spread it. Scrape as much as you can – use a spatula. After that apply a small amount of shaving cream on the spot and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Wipe the excess with a damp cloth.

  • Having a child means that for quite a long time you will have to face the fact that your floor will be covered in different toys. Large toys are not a big problem but the ones with tiny parts can be a nightmare. The first reason is that you can imagine the pain caused by stepping on a LEGO piece that was hiding in the carpet or trying to get a Nerf darts from under your sofa. The second reason is that these little parts are really inconvenient to be cleaned. How can you easily clean them? Place all the little toys in a mesh bag (used for laundry delicates) and run them on the lowest setting on your washing machine or dishwasher. If you are using the latter, place them only on the top rack!

  • Little kids tend to be really artistic. But what’s the problem with that? Well, these masterpieces usually don’t stay on paper – their creativity grows as well as their messes. Crayon doodles are something you have to put up with on daily basis. Advice from a full-time mom that has tried many different ways to deal with that problem is to apply regular non-gel paste on the doodles – this is also suitable for removing stains caused by permanent marker. If the toothpaste trick doesn’t work you can try applying shaving cream. Rub it in slightly and wipe it off with a soft cloth afterwards.

  • Alright, maybe a lot of you expected that urine stains can only be caused by our four-legged friends. However, they obviously haven’t experienced changing the diaper of a baby boy – if you are not quick enough you will need to consider washing the walls not only when it’s time for spring cleaning. How to get rid of the stain on the wall? It is really inconvenient place but you should know there’s a way to clean it. Put on rubber gloves and put some baking soda on your palm – rub it on the stained area. The soda will soak up the urine and will deodorise your wall. When you are done with that, using a brush scrub the area and wipe it clean with damp paper towel. After that spray some white vinegar on the area and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Wipe off your wall with a piece of paper towel to remove the excessive vinegar.

  • Most of the kids find really entertaining to press their little face to random glass surfaces. Mysterious smears of tiny noses and slobbery kisses can be found at knee-level. In addition to that their little hands are way too curious and touch every surface they can reach leaving behind handprints and fingerprints. How to clean the glass surfaces without using harsh chemicals? Professionals in end of tenancy cleaning recommend mixing one cup rubbing alcohol, one cup water and one tablespoon lemon juice. Pour them in a spray bottle and spray on the stained area. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe them – you will see how the prints will disappear in no time!

  • Children love Silly String, parents hate the following cleaning session. This sticky substance can be really stubborn and sometimes even with strong store-bought cleaning products it just doesn’t want to disappear. However, if your little one thought he is Spiderman and shot Silly string all over you or him, our recommendation is to use white vinegar to remove it from hair and regular nail polish remover to clean the clothing.

Bringing up a child is not easy but when you know these precious tricks dealing with the kid’s mess will be less burdening. However, we are sure that even though now you find this annoying at some point you are going to miss all of it!
