This kitchen transformation uses not one but two of our Tile ranges to create an overall design which is both stylish and functional. When this project started the aim was to open up the downstairs of the home by removing walls and creating a large flowing open space which would be multifunctional to serve the needs of the whole family. I’m sure you will agree that the tile choices are an integral part of the overall look and have hugely helped to create a space which feels bright and airy combining the best of classic and contemporary design with an industrial twist added through the Tiles .

Floor tiles: Affresco Grey. This tile from our Affresco range used modern printing techniques to created an aged concrete effect.

Wall tiles: Nirvana Iron. The Nirvana range are elongated brick shaped wall tiles which have a glossy overall finish, however they have been designed to look worn with distressed markings throughout the tile and particularly around the edges.  The white gloss finish ensures the natural light is reflected throughout the room.

Both tile ranges have a cool industrial vibe which is on trend and gives the space a current feel. However since both are designed to feel worn and ages they ae perfectly placed alongside the wooden beams to enhance the lived in feel of the home.

However the tiling in this home isn’t just about looks. It was about providing practical solutions for a busy home. This large family also has many pets including dogs. The corner tiling adds a statement feature to the room but its main purpose was to ensure the wall was protected from marks as the dogs brushed past the corner. These tiles are easily wiped down meaning that space will continue looking its best for years to come as the tiles are a much more durable option than a simple painted wall.
