Decorex is considered by many to be the pick of the interior design suppliers. Based in Syon Park for the last few years it has become a destination day out event for me, a great place to source new products and also catch up with industry friends. 5 years ago I was actually the official Decorex blogger – my post from Day 1 of Decorex 2011 – so it has a special place in my heart. My top picks today include wall coverings from Daniel Heath, fabric and wall panels from Margo Shelby and soft furnishing from Stitch by Stitch – all first time exhibitors at Decorex.

Daniel Heath is a wallpaper, textile and surface designer located in Walthamstow in the East End of London, and all his products are made on site in his studio. After training at the Royal College of Arts in screen printing he set up his own studio creating unique surface treatments. I really love Amazing Jumbo, available in seven standard colours but also with bespoke options. Also the new Onyx Skyline paper is an absolute winner if you are an Art Deco fan.

With the continued dominance in the interiors palette of tones of grey and with blue becoming increasingly popular again the latest fabrics on the Margo Selby stand are bang on trend. Located in Whitstable, where we have recently completed a project, they produce a wide range of textiles that are pushing the limits of weaving. Obviously my love of geometric design means I will be specifying these on a project soon – I especially liked the oversized wall panels made from fabrics in the Santa Fe collection.

Sustainability and authenticity are both important factors now when choosing products for our interiors. The soft furnishings at Stitch by Stitch certainly tick all the boxes here. The Desi natural wool cushions are hand-woven on traditional pit looms in Kutch, Gujrat using local wool. The amazing natural shades come from undyed wool – and as it is hand spun there is a lovely subtle feeling of movement in the fabric. If bright colours are your thing these are the perfect cushions for creating a very natural home interior.

My final mention – yes I know I’m only supposed to be featuring three suppliers from every show – goes to CTO Lighting. I’ve been a fan of their light fittings for many years so I am really pleased to hear they now have a showroom in Islington. I instantly fell in love with the new Larose Guyon light fittings on show – a real showstopper piece for any interior, the scale and copper finish are sublime.
