Are you moving? Not sure how to keep the kids out of trouble and happy while you pack everything up and move it out? Thankfully for you, we’ve compiled some great ideas and ways that you can give your kiddos a great time while you move into the home of your dreams.
Chalk It Up
One of the easiest and best ways to keep a child Busy during a move is sidewalk chalk! If you’re packing up your old residence, they can play hopscotch and draw pictures and all you have to do when it’s time to leave is hose it down with a sprayer!
Moving Box Fun
There are tons of games a child can play with a cardboard box and a little imagination.
You can turn a box into a color station and keep a child busy for hours! Turn a cardboard box into a spaceship or a car. Create a puppet theater. All you need for that is a flashlight and some stuffed animals or puppets.
Things You Can Do With Tape
Yep. That’s right. Tape. There are countless things you can do with tape that will drive a child wild with delight. Get tape in different colors and let them decorate the moving boxes, or spell words and write letters in tape. Let them “pin a tail” on a moving box, or help you color code your moving boxes. There’s literally an endless amount of things you can do with tape that will keep the kiddos busy for hours and out of your hair while you get the moving done!
Cleaning and Packing
You don’t have to have a fun activity planned for your child every second of the move. In fact, kids really enjoy helping, so if you have some extra sweeping or packing to do, let them help out! It’s also a good idea to have a “Moving Essentials” box with all of the things your child is going to need the first couple days in your new residence.
Plan a Scavenger Hunt!
It’s a proven fact. Kids love scavenger hunts. This is one of the best ways to keep a child busy while you’re packing and moving things around. You can even hide clues in the way the boxes are organized and in the crevices between doors at your new residence!
Keeping kids busy while you move can be stressful and require thorough planning, but we’re going to make it as stress free as possible for you as you pack to move into your new home!
