Here is a collection of interesting Caught On LaView clips for us to discuss as well as consider how outdoor security solutions are crucial to overall safety.

Bear Caught on Outdoor Surveillance Cameras

Anyone who lives in a rural area needs to be aware of animals. If something comes traipsing across your yard, you’ll want to make sure it is a friendly visitor before heading outside. That’s where outdoor surveillance cameras come into play.

In a lot of cases, homes that back up to a hill or mountainside need to be aware of bears. Even some urban and suburban homes that border rural areas have seen bears wander onto their properties.

Check out this footage sent to us by one of our clients:

As you can see in the video, this client lives in an area that is susceptible to bear visits. As docile as this bear seems, it is absolutely crucial for this client to know that it is present on his property. Imagine if the property owner, or one of his loved ones, goes in the backyard without knowing the bear is there. Sure, the bear may be scared off, but there is no guarantee of this.

Unfortunately, when bears and humans intersect in the natural world, it doesn’t always make for such a calm outcome. Bears are notorious for becoming aggressive as well as protective. Unlike the bear in this video who was scared off by the movement of the vehicle, bears can attack when confronted by humans. If they are hungry or threatened, this can make for a fatal encounter.

IP weatherproof rated security cameras are the way to go here for the outdoor protection. You’ll notice that the video showed both day and nighttime footage in pristine clarity.

To achieve this we recommend:

Ultra HD 4K System + PIR Thermal Detection

This Ultra HD 4K system is the perfect solution for picking up the movement of any threatening animals. It uses PIR thermal detection sensors to alert users to the motion of humans as well as animals.

If you want to ensure that you don’t run into a bear (or other dangerous animal, around your property), this system will provide the protection you need along with extreme detail.

Keep in mind, when it comes to animal sightings, they aren’t always so dangerous. We get our fair share of cute and heartwarming moments with people’s pets as well as some wildlife visitors like the ones below:

As you can see, our cameras are great for alerting you to both dangerous and friendly visitors. But, even those these deer seem calm and friendly, some people may care about the vegetation they plant around their yard. With footage like this, our client could decide whether they are okay with these nibbling visitors, or they can put up fencing or other deterrence to keep them from destroying their plants.

Outdoor Surveillance Cameras Catch Porch Pirates

If we’ve said it once, we’ll say it a thousand times: porch pirates are a serious problem. With ecommerce being such a prevalent force in supplying people with things they need, deliveries occur in staggering amounts to US homes. In fact, this country sees it’s top delivery services handling up to 15 million packages per day. That is a lot of opportunities for porch pirates to swoop in and steal people’s goods.

As displayed in this video, people brazenly take packages off people’s porches as though the items are casually theirs for the taking:

Let’s break down what we see here in this video.

First, we notice that the porch pirates pull up right in front of the home. When we described them as brazen earlier, we meant it. The advantage is always going to lie with the thief. They pull up and can make the grab before anyone knows what’s going on.

What they don’t know is that a LaView outdoor surveillance camera is pointing right now. Now, that time advantage is diminished. Plus, the homeowner already has some really solid evidence: make, color and license plate of the car.

From there, the camera diminishes the assailants’ time advantage. Our client receives a motion alert on their mobile device. You’ll notice that the woman walks up casually, not knowing she’s being filmed and takes the package. Now you have visual evidence of her face.

The homeowner almost makes it in time, but now has physically seen the thieves as well as their car and license plate. This will further corroborate the evidence as the appearance of the homeowner in the footage proves that he did in fact see the suspects.

Large Property Break-in Caught on Outdoor Surveillance Cameras

This next clip shows a man shamelessly breaking into a church and stealing property. You may ask yourself, who would have the audacity to break into a church? The unfortunate truth is that people know how many valuable assets lie within a church.

They could have speakers, instruments and other valuable items inside. Check out this footage of a man caught breaking into a church at night:

As you can see in the footage, the man took his time to find a vulnerable spot by which he could enter. This is exactly why we always recommend that our clients think about exactly what areas of their building are the most vulnerable. Those are the prime locations for outdoor surveillance cameras.
