Standalone Cameras – ONE Series

With the introduction of the ONE Series, we are incorporating a wide array of new single cameras to our collection. As you consider where to begin your home security system, it’s a good idea to start with one of our standalone cameras. Our new cloud storage option makes this easier than ever as you won’t need an NVR to record. The value in starting with a single Camera over a full system is that you can get a feel for the benefits that surveillance can bring to your life without committing to a kit that may or may not suit your needs. As you think about where to start, you should ask yourself the following 3 questions:

  1. Who is the camera for?

This may seem like a simple question, but it’s actually the first thing you should consider any time you plan on investing in home security. Is it meant to capture the general scene for the family in the living room? Is it going to be used in the kids’ room? Or maybe you just need to keep an eye on your furry friend while you are away from your home. Regardless of who the camera is for, it’s important to identify this because it can completely change the type of camera you need.

Imagine that you just want to keep an eye on your baby while you are out of the room. You put her down for a nap while you are in the kitchen doing the dishes and cleaning up. Once she wakes up, you move her into the play area while you continue your cleaning. For this, you need something portable that can easily be moved around the house. The ONE Dot is the camera for the job. It’s small, easily connects to your Wi-Fi and features a magnetic base that allows it to adhere to most metal surfaces around your house. Or, you can just set it on a flat surface and have it stand upright. Other cameras that stay in a fixed position don’t offer you the same flexibility as the ONE Dot.

Let’s say you want to get the most out of one camera in the largest room of the house; you would need the help of one of our most versatile standalones: the ONE PT. This camera can be set on any flat surface or mounted on the wall to cover everything in the room. Its 360° motion tracking is perfect for covering large family areas where you want the camera to follow movement. So, if you answered that the camera was for the whole family, the ONE PT is the clear front runner for covering more with less.

  1. Do I need the ability to communicate?

There will be times that you are viewing your live footage on your mobile device and you’ll have the need to communicate with whomever is on the other end. If you think this will be a common occurrence for you, you’ll definitely want to consider one of our cameras with built-in two-way audio. This gives you the freedom to be away from your home with the ability to view your camera’s live footage and speak to anyone in the vicinity. The ONE Dot and ONE PT both include this feature which is perfect for communicating with a house sitter or giving instructions to the nanny while you are away.

We also offer two-way audio with the ONE Peek and ONE Halo coming soon. If you want to keep an eye on your doorway with the option of speaking to anyone that approaches, these two are the ideal options. The ONE Doorbell is a doorbell camera that alerts you when someone rings and can be set to send you notifications when motion is detected. If you frequently receive deliveries, this is a great way to speak to the delivery person and tell them exactly where to leave your packages. The ONE Peek is an upgrade to your peephole and offers the same communication benefits. The mini monitor that attaches to the inside of your door, however, allows anyone on the inside to see who is at the door and communicate with two-way audio on the spot. This is feature works great for kids or the elderly who may not have access to the mobile app to view the camera’s live footage. They can see who’s at the door with the mini monitor and choose whether or not to correspond via two-way audio. So, if you need to communicate with the area around your camera, the ONE Series has you covered!

  1. Do I need a crime deterrent?

Much of our ONE Series focuses on your household, bringing you a great selection of indoor cameras and upgrades for your front door. With that said, we still want to make sure that you have options to secure your home if you feel the need. Our biggest option here is the ONE Nova. This is our update to your basic motion triggered floodlight. The ONE Nova takes the concept a step further by adding on an HD 1080P camera. The camera uses PIR human detection and motion detection to flash on the floodlights and record as soon as the sensors are triggered. This is a huge crime deterrent that will keep your property safe.

Additionally, we offer crime deterring options for the interior of your home. Chief among them is the ONE Hub. This camera and sensor system allows you to place the camera anywhere in the room along with its corresponding door sensor. When the sensor is triggered, the camera will automatically point toward it and record. The sensor has a built-in alarm that will sound when someone opens the door. This can potentially stop a home intrusion as perpetrators are scared off by the loud alarm.

No matter what your needs are, the ONE Series is designed to give you an easy start to your home security. Think about these bigger questions and think about how our new standalone cameras can meet those needs. Once you get a feel for what our security solutions can provide, you can always add more cameras to create an all-encompassing DIY system that suits all your needs.
