A. Balance

Maintaining a Balance in the house is vital. There are three essential styles of balance which you can follow for better implementation:

1. Symmetrical Balance

It is characterized by using the same objects on either side of an imaginary vertical pole in a room. Found mostly in traditional interiors, the two sides of the room look like mirror images of each other. This symmetry reflects the human form, and hence every person tends to find a perfect harmony in such rooms.

2. Asymmetrical Balance

Decorating with different articles and objects is highly appreciated and loved by people across the globe. It is less orchestrated and more casual. Bringing an asymmetrical balance in the house require lots of creativity but makes the interiors more lively and will surely win your heart instantly.

3. Radial Symmetry

In this type of symmetry, the design is mainly centered around a focal point. A spiral staircase is an accurate example. Although many do not prefer it, if positioned in a planned way, it is sure to take center stage.

B. Focal Point

A well-decorated house requires space and size. Setting a focal point in your interiors is one of the primary observations to be made. Scale, style, color, and theme are equally important. Balance can be maintained keeping the focal point in mind. For example, a fireplace or a LED television must be placed at a certain point for the residents to enjoy it from every corner of the room.

C. Rhythm

Interior design is solely a rhythm of visual patterns, which is defined as continuity and recurrence of motifs. For a themed décor, you have to follow a certain mechanism and rhythm so that the décor showcases repetition, progression, transition, and a beautiful contrast.

While repetition is the multiple usages of the same element in a given room; progression includes increasing or decreasing any particular quality of an element; transition allows the eyes to smoothly glide from one part of the room to another and contrast is about pairing two opposites from colors to shapes etc.

Try to use soothing colors. When in doubt, paint one wall with bright color and apply its shades on the other walls. Do not limit to walls alone; you can contrast with furniture, rugs, and curtains as well.

D. Details

For maintaining a firm detail of the entire interior, you need to balance between scale and proportion, the two elements that go hand in hand. Proportion looks upon the ratio of one design, whereas, scale builds up the style of one object compared to the other. Color, in the meantime, act as a catalyst which creates an added impact on the whole scenario.
