How to Make Your Office Reception Area Worth a Wait

Office waiting areas are probably seen for a longer period of time by your clients than they actually see you! Not just clients, your workers, employees, potential employees, auditors often look at your Reception and waiting areas only to gauge what kind of a company you are. A company's reception reflects a lot about their personality and work culture. The design, and room's layout with ecofriendly features are all correlated, thus defining your reception.

Let us look at three reasons why people should prioritize their receptions for upgrading their work-spaces.

To Motivate Employees and Visitors:

Think how you would feel if you entered an office that is dark, gloomy, disorganized, and cold? On the other hand, wouldn't it energize you a little more if you were to enter a workplace with lots of natural light, great strategic organization, and furniture designed for comfort?

Everybody has a workforce of almost same caliber. What will set your company apart is how your employees bring out the best in them. Hence, give your employees the much-needed boost. Hang portraits made by your employees, their artworks, their quotes, etc. in the waiting area and reception. Your company is not only meant to greet visitors and guests but also your employees. Let them be inspired by themselves and strive to work harder and come up with innovative ideas. Company outing photos, missions, goals, and values when read and brought to notice every day surely brings out the best of results!

To Convey a Company's Work Culture and Aesthetics:

Imagine yourself sitting in a conference room for a meeting. Will you be looking with great concentration at the speaker addressing the meeting or the conference room? Now, imagine yourself waiting at the reception to be called inside for an interview in 15 minutes. Will you not just keep staring at the reception?

What one's first instincts are after looking at the reception, defines the impression the person will have about the company altogether for a long term. There is nothing more impressive than a good reception area.

Invest in Areas Receiving Maximum Traffic:

One of the most important rules of modern designing is to invest more in places that would gather maximum foot traffic– receptions, lobbies, and employee workstations.
The flooring in these spaces should be durable, and the design should be modern instead of being shabby with some clutters.

Comfort never walks alone. It always comes with personal satisfaction. There will be a time when reception areas will have to be tailored according to every individual's choices and demands.

Functionality and technology should be integrated well into furniture. It should be appealing to our senses and never cause any mess.

As the foremost space of your office, the reception area should evoke warmth, life, character and substance. Let your employees be proud of their company.
