As we head into Labor Day weekend, here are some of our picks for the best events in Houston over the long holiday weekend.

In fact, he bought her an entire billboard in Los Angeles last week to congratulate her on receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award this year. Does “Drizzy” have the look of love? See for yourself as he takes the stage at the Toyota Center on Saturday and Sunday.

Houston Symphony: Music of The Rolling Stones at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

For the second year in a row, Houston’s world-renowned Symphony will let their hair down for their Classic Rock Weekend at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. This year, they’ll be featuring the music of The Rolling Stones, with Brody Dolyniuk playing the role of Mick Jagger. Head on out to the Woodlands to get some symphonic “Satisfaction” on Friday night.

Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival

The 7th Annual Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens

One of the country’s largest beer fests, the Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival will take place at the Moody Gardens in Galveston the entire Labor Day weekend. Kicking off on Friday night on picturesque Galveston Island, this Beer celebration is a chance to sample some of the region’s tastiest suds. There’ll be over 400 microbrew masters on hand, serving up their best frothy concoctions. The promoters are billing the event as  “the largest, most comprehensive craft beer celebration at the beach” and as we’ve seen from previous years, they’re right! Ground Zero for the beer extravaganza is Galveston’s Moody Gardens, where in addition to all the brews, you can enjoy delicious eats cooked up by some of the area’s finest chefs.

With the US soccer team Medaling in Rio a few weeks ago; excitement over women’s soccer continues to grow. Houston is lucky enough to be home to one of the top teams in the National Women’s Soccer League, the Houston Dash, and on Saturday, they’ll take the “pitch” against Orlando. Head to BBVA Compass Stadium to cheer on “striker” Stephanie Ochs and defender Denise O’Sullivan on the pitch.
