How To Install A Shade Tarp In Your Backyard
It is fast and easy to install a sun shade tarp to your backyard like a pro.
Here we are going to discuss some basic and simple steps on how to install sun shade tarp to your backyard so you can enjoy your backyard even more:
Tools You Need For The Installation:
Sun shade tarp to cover area
Screwdriver or a hammer
Safety goggles
Tape measure
Box cutters or a sharp knife or scissors or some other sharp cutting instrument
Attachment hardware: nails, 1in staples or screws (stainless steel hardware is recommended)
Easy Steps To Install Sun Shade Tarp
Start with a structure or pergola or arbour whatever you wish to cover with the sun shade tarp.
Roll out the sun shade tarp across your structure by loosely pulling it into position.
Leave around 8-12 inches of overhang on all sides.
Attach shade tarp to one of the longest sides first or one of the edges closest to your house.
Start at one end and pull applying medium pressure as you move along the edge.
Now attach about every 12-18 inches.
Finish attaching the outside edges and continue in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
Always keep the knitted knot lines in the fabric straight.
When attaching the shade tarp along an edge of the structure where the fabric will be trimmed off, make sure you move the attachment point just inside from the outside edge of the beam, or leave room to cut the fabric.
When fixing the edges of two rolls of sun shade tarps with grommets along a rafter or support, try not to overlap the shade cloth, if possible.
Offset the joining points of the two edges so they don't align next to each other.
You can either use a pinch pleat to join two sections of the shade fabric.
Just tack down the sun shade tarp to any interior support beams of 12-18 inches apart.
Closer if your area is prone to harsh winds.
Trim off all the edges using a box cutter or a sharp instrument.
