Debunking Keto Diets With Science-Based Research

The ketogenic Diet is the most popular diet trend in the world right now. A ketosis diet is being touted as a great solution for many chronic diseases, especially diabetes.

If you’re on a ketogenic diet, you probably were like me and hit a plateau and weren’t seeing the kinds of changes you were expecting from all the hype that was online and how this miraculous diet is supposedly changing the lives of millions.

Well, let me be the first to say that while ‘in the short term‘ keto diets looks promising for bringing down your weight, the biomarkers that dictate your metabolic state, your cardiovascular health, and markers of inflammation, they have shown with the results of the test I’ve seen with my A1c and other results, confirm just how dysfunctional keto diets can be.

In this video, Cyrus Khambatta, Ph.D., discusses the facts about ketosis and how it affects insulin resistance and can cause a host of diseases in the longterm with a keto diet.

Weight isn’t the only thing a person should look at trying to combat.

I was doing everything correctly on a keto diet but still wasn’t achieving my goals, so I began looking for a better approach because eating a diet high in animal meat, saturated fats, cheese, and other high-fat food has, for me and many others, has been a recipe for disaster.

Thankfully, I came across two guys with a program they developed called Mastering Diabetes. One is a Ph.D. and the other with years of experience with my condition as a prediabetic with my A1c at 7% (that’s very high). I’ve been following their lifestyle plan for less a month and I’ve lost 16 pounds eating a very low fat plant-based whole foods diet without calorie restricting. I missed fruits so much when I was on keto and I cannot believe the stride I’ve made in such a short period of time, and how good I feel physically is proof of how effective this plan is.

I get to eat as many fruits and vegetables that I want! I missed both of them so much being on a keto diet and so glad that I found Mastering Diabetes, which is the program that is actually working. It sounds crazy that eating whole plant-based foods like fruit would actually begin to strip the fat off of me, but it is!

If you’re on the keto diet and you’re not feeling well or seeing the gains you want, I highly encourage you to look into Mastering Diabetes. I mean seriously, the longterm effects of a ketogenic diet by eating meat, saturated fat, bacon, and other moderate fat-containing food, to me, was not the way to go. We are not carnivores; we are omnivores and are not meant to eat meat but rather, by the structure of our teeth, are meant to grind our food. We don’t have incisors like meat-eating animals have, so it makes sense that since our mouths and digestive tracts aren’t anywhere near what theirs are, we should be sticking to what our biology is dictating to us and eating the kinds of foods that we were meant to eat.

Cyrus Khambatta, Ph.D. and Robby Barbaro, MPH are the co-founders of Mastering Diabetes. They have been living with type 1 diabetes for a combined total of 36 years. Both consistently have A1c values between 5.3-5.7% and have eaten a low-fat, plant-based, whole-food diet for a combined total of more than 28 years.

Mastering Diabetes approach is a plant-based intact whole food eating plan; I haven’t seen these kinds of gains on a keto plan. The guys at Mastering Diabetes know what they’re doing and have looked at over 3,000 peer-reviewed studies that show eating fat in your diet has an adverse impact on ALL biological markers in the body and contribute to Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, atherosclerosis, and a host of other diseases. Don’t take my word for it. Check out what they have to say and make up your own mind. But for me, this is my salvation to finally begin being healthy once again and on the road to finally fit in my skinny jeans again!

Here’s a good video to start understanding the science being Mastering Diabetes.

Low-fat, plant-based, whole-foods are the way to go!
