Malachite: Original Uses and Other Information

Malachite is an opaque, Green banded, nearly black mineral made from copper carbonate. It’s green color is actually formed from the tarnishing copper; similar to how the Statue of Liberty got it’s color. In the 1800’s Malachite was primarily used as a pigment for green paints. It was also used as decoration and to make jewelry.

Often referred to as the “stone of transformation” malachite is said to help open your heart and throat chakras and balance out emotion dysregulation. Because of this, it may also help with releasing negative emotions and trauma trapped within the body.
