- Cornstarch ( 4 tbsp )
- Normal temperature water ( 5 cups )
- Rose water ( 1/3 cup )
- Saffron threads ( 1/2 tsp )
- Corn oil ( 1/2 cup )
- Cardamom powder ( 1 tbsp )
- Food color ( red ) ( 1 tsp )
- Sugar ( 3.5 cups or as your taste )
- Pistachio nuts
- Cashew nuts
Methods
- Firstly, soak the saffron threads in the rose water for half an hour.
- Then, put cornstarch, normal temperature water in the bowl and mix it very well with a whisk.
- Then, put the sugar in the pan and cook it until it becomes brown color.
- Then, add the cornstarch water mixture to the pan and stir it very well with a wooden spatula.
- Then, again add the rose water saffron mixture, corn oil, food color, cardamom powder to the the pan and cook until it becomes thick.
- Then, Bahraini halwa will be made.
- Lastly, serve this Bahraini halwa with pistachio nuts and cashew nuts.
Note: We have to stir all the ingredients continuously when cooking.
