Nashville has been your home for some time now, what are some of your favorite places around the city to meet with friends or experience the city?

I have lived in several parts Nashville since 2002 as Nashville has experienced tremendous growth.  What I have enjoyed most about the growth is the addition of great restaurants like Hattie B’s, and the development of the Nashville Predators fanbase. Nashville is still a small town

When did you first have the vision for Magnolia Home Inspections & what inspired it?

As a contractor, I had quite a number of friends, family and church members ask me to look at a house they had made an offer on.  Most of these friends had already paid for a home Inspection and received an inspection report without a good feeling that they were prepared to make a good decision.  It was extremely disappointing to quickly learn how many significant issues were never discussed during the inspection process, serious issues that included tens of thousands of dollars in needed upgrades/repairs (galvanized plumbing, moisture issues, lack of building codes oversight on repairs, …).

I opened Magnolia Home Inspections to provide a better option for home buyers who deserve better.  Our goal is to be a market disrupter based on integrity and the knowledge of our construction experience.  The majority of home inspection business models are built to serve the best interests of Realtors and this obviously shaded the results of a home inspection provided to my family and friends.

What does your typical day look like at Magnolia?

I am in the YMCA gym around 5am in the morning before eating breakfast and catching up on emails, finishing reports from the following day.  The first inspection starts at 8:30am, walk through with first clients around 10am, lunch, then second inspection 12-12:30pm, walk-through with second clients around 1:30-2pm.  If there is a third inspection that occurs around 2:30-3pm.  Late afternoon includes office work completing reports before catching up with college football news on SEC Network.

What are some of your favorite things about your Leadership Role at Magnolia?

I most enjoy the opportunity to identify the need within the real estate industry for better customer service for home owners, creating core values that define the best ethical response in a venue with competing interests and creating a culture within the business that brings those values into reality.

What is the Magnolia Difference to you?

Relationships.  I still keep in touch with clients that I completed kitchen and bath remodels for 10 years ago as a contractor.  Magnolia genuinely cares about the long-term best interests of our clients and I honestly expect our clients to call years from now for help on making smart decisions about their home.

10 years from now what do you want your life and business to look like?

Business: I would love to have a team of about 30 employees providing the best service possible for home-buyers in the Middle TN and Southeast.  Life: Yearly 2 week long vacations are a long-term goal

If you only had 1 sentence to tell someone about the unique approach and immense value Magnolia brings, what would you say? Go!

You’ll walk away with a peace of mind that Magnolia has provided the most thorough home inspection possible, identifying realistic problems and providing quality recommendations on how to address repairs with the current owner.

Bonus: http://tr5tm4gn0.wwwmi3-sr26.supercp.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/shutterstock_1899874807-FB-1.jpg is working toward his Pilot’s License for Unmanned Small Aircraft – DRONES. This is something he plans to potentially incorporate into Magnolia’s roof inspections. Watch for news on that in the coming months!
