As much as you may not want to hear this, Christmas is just around the corner!  Do you have a family member that you’d like to see more prepared, but they are a bit resistant to it?  These 20 Prepper Christmas Gifts may be just what you’re looking for.  Helping someone get more prepared even if it’s on the sly is a great way to go.

1.)  Pocket Knife –  Everyone needs a pocket knife.  This is the knife that I’ve been carrying for the last TEN years, and I love it.  When I was visiting some friends on a farm I lost it.  I went back to Amazon and purchased two the next day in case it happened again.  I love that knife and use it ALL-THE-TIME.  We get a fair amount of boxes (I have an Amazon addiction).   I use it to open those or cut some string that my kids tied in too tight a knot on a drawer pull or some other random item.

2.)  Luci Light – We LOVE these.  They are hardy, inflatable, and solar.  Just put them out in the sun during the day and use them at night.  Because they don’t involve electricity or flames, they make great night lights for children who are used to having a light on at night.

3.)  Mace/Pepper Spray – Do you have a teenage daughter or a young woman in your life who needs a way to protect herself.  This is the mace that I have purchased and carry myself.  Give the gift of self-protection this Christmas!

4.)  Pie Irons – We use these over our fireplace to make different kinds of pies from Blueberry pies, apple pies, pizza pies, ham and cheese pies, and so many more!

5.)  First Aid Kit –  We keep one of these in our vehicles and another in our house for general use.  They are well stocked, have the basics, and have been helpful for the minor emergency while we’re out and about.

6.) Road Atlas – Do you have a member of your family who does a lot of traveling, but always uses an electronic GPS? Would you feel better if they had an atlas that they keep in their car in case something happened?  This is the atlas that we keep in our car for emergencies.   It’s comprehensive for the US and will get you from point A to Point B.

7.)  Hori-Hori garden knife – Do you have a gardener or aspiring gardener in your circle?  This would be a perfect gift!  This is a mini spade with measuring marks, with a serrated blade.  I LOVE mine, and I can’t wait until I can get it back into the dirt next spring.

8.) Crave Case – While we shouldn’t rely on electronics, they do help.  I keep this in my backpack that I carry.  My cell seems to lose charge faster than I’d like, this comes in SO handy.  This would be a perfect gift, especially for those techies!  I also love the fact that it’s a USB-C charger, so my laptop cord or my phone charger cord now work with this as well.

9.) Outdoor Solar Lights –  These are great to use in your garden, but if you’re ever without electricity, these can be brought inside to use when the power goes out.

10.) Manual Food Processor – Do you have someone who spends time in the kitchen? Kitchen gifts are awesome!  But then again I might be bias since I run a food storage and preparedness blog.   I LOVE this mini food processor, and I will use this instead of my powered one!  It is sturdy and works so well.  It cuts raw carrots into a pulp with ease.

11.)  Manual Hand Tiller – Does someone you know have a small garden and doesn’t own a powered rototiller?  This would be perfect for them!  It’s so easy to use.  I used this last garden season, and it was wonderful, easy to use, and effective.

12.)  Walkie Talkies – We’ve purchased these walkie talkies for my son.  They have been used HARD, but have held up SO well!  The range is fairly short, so they would need to be fairly close – I’d say 1/4 mile or less.

13.)  Tool Set – This Stanley tool set is WONDERFUL.  I purchased it for myself and told the rest of my family (even my husband) aren’t allowed to use it because they are known for ‘borrowing’ things and not returning them.

14.) Road Bike Maintenance book – This book goes into detail on bike maintenance and basic repair.  If we ever hit on hard times, bicycles may be used as one of our primary methods of transportation.  Keeping our bikes in good condition will be a necessity.

15.)  Bike Repair Kit – To go along with the bike repair book, this bike repair kit is invaluable in providing someone with the tools to do basic bike maintenance and repair.

20.)  Enamel Covered Cast Iron Dutch Oven – Most of us love cast iron!  Enamel covered cast iron is even more amazing than just regular cast iron.  It’s prettier and is more easily maintained.  But an enamel covered cast iron dutch oven is a wonderful tool to use cooking with the advantage that it could be used over a fire if need be.
