Plate walls can be a great way to decorate your Wall and make it the centre of attraction. And the best part here is that you do not need to hire any workers or help for this design. You can create it yourself and enjoy the process. Here is a guide on how to create a lovely Plate design for your wall. 

Step 1 – Collecting the plates 

To add visual interest, collect the plates you intend to use and vary their size, colour, and pattern. Here, you can utilize roughly 20 plates and expand your colour scheme to variations of different colours such as pastels and white in combinations in order to contrast the striking wall colour. For each dish you want to hang, you will need a set of plate hangers. These come with a nail and range in size and weight ratings. 

Step 2 – Buy the plate hangers 

Once you’ve chosen where they’ll hang on the wall, set the plate hangers on numerous plates so they’ll be prepared to hang. 

How to make your own plate hangers 

Open your paper clip using it (unfold it one time).

Take your plate and place it on your work table face down.

Place your paperclip on the hot glue such that only a little closed loop protrudes out the edge of the plate’s base. Use your hot glue gun to apply glue to the plate’s edge where you will connect the paperclip.

More hot glue should be applied over the paperclip until it is completely covered.  Before moving on, let it cool a little.

Cover this area with duct tape after the adhesive has cooled.

Step 3 – Start hanging your plates 

You can create a whole visual first on paper and then start hanging the plates. Here is an idea of how to hang the plates but definitely you can create your own as well. What you can do is Begin at the wall’s upper-right corner. Mark the spot on the wall where the hanger will go once you’ve located where to place the first plate. Then, using your hammer, drive the nail into the drywall by passing it through the hanger holder. Put the plate hanger on the hanger holder after that. One at a time, hang the plates, pausing every so often to check if you like how the pattern is taking shape. Work your way left to right down the wall. Before you know it, your favourite room will have the ideal plate wall that serves as a stunning focal point. 

How to create paper plates for the wall hangings 

Get your paper out. Start by setting each plate on a sheet of paper one at a time. Next, make a pencil trace of the area.

Next, cut out the templates for your paper plates.

Place your plates on a large table or the floor in the form of the wall you want to create to get an idea of the design you want for the wall. Take your paper templates with you. Start mounting your paper plate templates on the wall using very little tape. Although you can measure it with your eyes, you should definitely get your tape measure out and make sure everything is level top to bottom and side to side. But rather than measuring, it’s more about making an aesthetic decision.
