Installing the Humidifier

Then I positioned the humidifier over the opening and screwed it in. It’s done!

Installing the Bypass Gate

There would be a duct that connects the gate and the humidifier, so I installed the gate approximately one foot away, to let the duct stretch out for better airflow.

After deciding the spot for installation, I marked the screw holes and drilled them.

Then I placed the collar on position, traced the insides, drilled a hole for a starting point and then cut out the opening with the tin snips.

Finally, I secured the screws to attach the unit.

Installing the Ducts and Tubes

You have to cut the duct mentioned earlier in the correct length between the humidifier and the bypass gate. I cut it with a pair of scissors and connected it to both units with the provided clamps. You can use hose clamps as well.

Next, I turned off the water supply and let out the water pressure by opening the faucets. This was done so that I can install the tap on fitting that clamped on the tap with a valve. Locking the valve in place and turning it will make a hole on the waterline. I used a screwdriver and a wrench to do that.

Then I made sure the tubing included in the installation kit was long enough to attach from the humidifier to the nearest cold water supply. There was actually extra length so I cut it with a knife. The fittings went to each end and were tightened with the wrench.

Installing the Humidistat

On the return duct, I marked the place for the humidistat with the help of the installation template. The manual said this should be about a foot above the humidifier unit.

I installed it like I did the humidifier. Lastly, I connected the wires. (If you have no idea about wiring, you may want to search for additional help!)

Installing the Transformer

After all that, I just attach the wires from the transformer to the humidistat, making sure it will reach the nearest power outlet, then plug it in. It’s just a lot of work and a no-brainer. Hope my article helps you install your whole house humidifier then.
