People are often attracted to Cape Cod in high numbers, lured in by the region’s natural landscape, its history, and its quaint shops and restaurants. If you’re in search of a different type of experience, you’ll find that too, in terms of local art and culture on Cape Cod. The arts Art in the Park in Chatham takes place each year at Kate Gould Park in late summer. You’ll find everything from paintings to stained glass. In Hyannis, local artists rent space along the harbor at part of the Bismore Park Artist Shanties. Dozens of artists are said to participate throughout the season. In Orleans, you’ll find some Artist Cottages at Orleans Market Square. Local galleries You probably won’t have to look very far for a local gallery, either. There are several art galleries on the Cape, including some found on Old King’s Highway in Orleans, Downtown Wellfleet and Provincetown. Many of them are within walking distance of other galleries too, with everything from sculptures and paintings to contemporary galleries. Expect to find some local artwork, as well as some artwork from around the world. Live music During the summer months, many towns on Cape Cod host their own versions of live music and concerts. This includes the Friday night Chatham Band Concert at Kate Gould Park in Chatham, and the Harwich Town Band, which puts on concerts at Brooks Park in the summertime in Harwich. There’s also a free Summer Concert Series with performances in locations across the Cape. Local festivals  There are plenty of annual festivals too, including the Sandwich Arts and Crafts Festival, which is held mid-summer. There are several festivals in late summer too, including the Kill Tide Arts and Craft Festival in Brewster and the Chatham Summer Crafts Festival. In early fall, SandwichFest brings in local artists, craftsmen, street vendors, and more.
