Wellington Aquatic Complex

If you’re looking to beat the heat head over to the Aquatic Complex in Wellington Florida. It features an Olympic size pool, waterslides, splash pads, and more! Admission starts at $3 for children under 17 and $5 for adults. They also offer annual passes for individuals and group/family memberships.

*Please note admission may change and the complex will be closed to the general public if the water temperature drops below 75 degrees or due to inclement weather.

Scott’s Place Park

12190 Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington, FL 33414

Scott’s Place Park is an incredible barrier-free playground designed for children of every ability! Designed to meet the needs of both able-bodied and disabled children.

Scott’s Place features sensory items, slides, swings, wheelchair ramps, and shade.

This amazing park was built by the community in 2010 and made possible in part to the generous donation made by Del & Barbara Williamson in honor of their son Scott, who they lost to cerebral palsy at the age of six.

Events at the Wellington Amphitheater

The amphitheater is the hub for so many free events in Wellington. From movie night to free concerts to the food truck series you’re sure to find something you and your family will enjoy. Head over to the Village of Wellington’s event calendar for a list of upcoming events.

The Wellington Amphitheater itself is an open grassy area with a 3,200 square feet main building, which features a stage, complete with a full sound and lighting system. It also has restrooms, green rooms, a loading area, and has the capacity to accommodate 1,500 people.

Tiger Shark Cove Park

13800 Greenbriar Boulevard, Wellington, FL 33414

Tiger Shark Cove is one of the most popular parks in Palm Beach County Florida. The ocean-themed playground features a crab shack, obstacle courses, sandcastle, submarine with portholes, sunken pirate ship play area, swing set, rubberized flooring, and shaded areas.

Outside the playground, you’ll find 2 batting cages, 3 pavilions, which can be rented, 4 softball fields, and a concession stand.

While there are so many great things to do in Wellington there are a lot of other things to do that are close by. Check out these other things to do, which are less than 30 minutes from the Village of Wellington.

Lion Country Safari

If you plan on visiting Palm Beach County Florida make sure Lion Country Safari is on your things to do list. Voted the 3rd best zoo in the nation by USA Travel Guide this drive-through safari park is something the entire family is sure to love.

Just a few wildlife you’ll get to see on your safari are African Lions, Wildebeest, Chimpanzees, Zebras, Rhinoceros’, Impala, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Blackbuck, and more.

In addition, to having the ability to drive next to wildlife, Lion Country Safari also has a 55-acre walk-through adventure park. Here guests will be able to explore attractions, encounters, habitat talks, rides, food, and more.

Lion Country Safari has premium experiences for a fee. Things like a Giraffe Painting Experience, “Flamingo Mingle” Experience, “Birds and Brushes” Experience along with Toddler Tour: Petting Zoo Experience.

Okeeheelee Park | Biking, Boating, Fishing & More

Sprawled across 1,700 acres Okeeheele Park offers every outdoor activity imaginable. You can spend the day on the water canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, water skiing, or fishing. If you don’t have a boat or a kayak, no worries, you can rent one! Kayak-King Watersports Inc. rents kayaks, pedal boats, canoes, stand-up paddleboards even bicycles.

If you prefer to stay on land Okeeheelee Park has an 8-mile bicycle path, BMX track, 8-mile walking path, a 20 station exercise course, and a 19 hole disc golf.

Okeeheelee Park also features playgrounds, a dog park, 5 lighted baseball fields, 4 lighted softball fields, 6 lighted tennis courts, 1 grass volleyball court, 6 pickleball courts, 4 lighted multipurpose fields, and more.

You also have the option to join friends and family for a picnic at one of the many picnic pavilions and shelters throughout the part, which have tables and grills.

Okeeheelee is free to enter and open from sunrise to sunset. Some activities may require a license and/or reservation.

Norton Museum of Art

1450 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

The Norton Museum of Art is located in West Palm Beach and has more than 7,000 works of art on display for viewing. Art collections include European, American, and Chinese, Contemporary, and Photography. The Norton Museum of Art also has special exhibitions throughout the year along with programs.

Museum hours vary throughout the year. Membership isn’t required to visit Norton Museum, they offer general admission tickets for the day, but their annual membership is very affordable. Children under 12 are always free and student general admission tickets are only $5. (rates may change)

Palm Beach Zoo

1301 Summit Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33405

Sprawled across 23-acres you’ll find the Palm Beach Zoo, which houses more than 550 animals (190 species), many of which are endangered. Throughout the year the zoo also offers many different events and educational programs.

The Palm Beach Zoo is centrally located in West Palm Beach Florida and is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

While parking is always free there is an admission fee, except for toddlers under 2 they’re free. Depending on the number of people in your group a zoo membership might be the way to go if you plan on visiting at least twice a year.

Rapids Waterpark

6566 N Military Trail West Palm Beach, FL 33407

Rapids Waterpark is the ultimate waterpark in Palm Beach County that has the biggest, coolest, and wettest water rides around. Situated on 30 acres in West Palm Beach it has rides and attractions the entire family is sure to enjoy.

Rapids includes 42 water slides, a wave pool with up to 6-foot waves, dual 7-story speed slides, and a quarter-mile lazy river. It also has slides and attractions for small children and toddlers.

Rapids offers daily tickets and season passes, which if you plan on visiting more than twice the season pass is definitely the way to go. Cabana and locker rentals are available as well. Rapids waterpark also offers two full-service snack bars and sit-down restaurants.

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a refuge and nature center for Florida wildlife. They are dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating over 5,000 injured wild animals with the ultimate goal of returning recovered patients back to their natural habitats.

Nature trails throughout Busch Wildlife Sanctuary lead visitors through pine flat-woods, oak hammocks, and cypress wetlands.

Along the nature trails are wildlife habitats exhibiting a variety of native animals. They also offer one-of-a-kind opportunities to learn about nature while providing a sanctuary for wildlife.

Visiting Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is free. However, they are a non-profit organization and do accept donations.

Calypso Bay Waterpark

151 Lamstein Ln, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411

Calypso Bay Waterpark is an outdoor waterpark in Royal Palm Beach Florida. It features an 897-foot river ride lily pad walk, 2 four-story high water slides, a children’s water playground, lap pool, diving boards, full-service concession stand, locker rooms, shower facilities, and locker rentals.

Calypso Bay is a great place to enjoy the water and Florida sunshine. Admission fees will depend on the time of day and in addition to daily tickets Calypso Bay also offers season passes.
