What not to do while painting

We keep seeing lists of what to do during painting the walls and other surfaces but there are things you should avoid for a better outcome as one mistake can make the effort of the painter you fail in Nepal and 8 of them are mentioned below.

  1. Rushing

Take it slow if you want to Paint like a professional. Commence it during your free time to remove the pressure to finish within a certain time limit.

  1. Mixing up paints

Make sure to not mix up all the paints with thinner or any other liquid at once. Mix just as much as you need as the diluted paint is not storable for long and undiluted paint is storable and reusable for up to three years.

  1. Out of order

Painting without following the order of starting from the ceiling, walls, doors, woodwork, and ending on the floor can make your Painting project messy. Paint in this order.

  1. Skipping surface preparation

Do not forget surface preparation before any painting job. Sand the walls and wipe it off properly with a clean cloth.

  1. Wrong composition of paint and primer

Opt for same types of paints and primers if you want your painting work to last. If you are using water-based paint, then go with water-based primer and vice versa, not the oil-based paint or anything else.

  1. Painting over things

Remove all the old wallpapers by not even leaving a little residue however you can to make wall paints long lasting. Use steamer or paper removing solution or sand and scrape it and then wipe it off with clean cloth. If needed, prime your walls with compatible primer in Nepal.

  1. No Ventilation

While painting, ventilation is essential to let the paint smell out so, make sure you are not painting with all the doors and windows closed and prevent yourself from getting a headache and nausea.

  1. Drying time

Do not expect the paints to dry up quick. Give it at least 24 hours and some more time to hang everything back to its old place.

Before you set the remaining paint aside, clean up its rim or it may get stuck the next time you try to open it. To avoid the mess and store the paint efficiently, place a paper towel just before closing the lid tightly and also to be able to get the same shades as when the paint is new in Nepal because it can change if not stored properly.
