Kobalt Backpack Sprayer Review and 2 Great Alternatives

If you’ve looked into lawn sprayers for your yard, chances are you’ve considered the Kobalt Backpack Sprayer. Kobalt is a well known brand in power tools, and offers an exceptional warranty. It’s high-quality build lasts for many years.

A Backpack Sprayer helps you spray down your plants easily and efficiently. Carrying around a manual pump sprayer is a hassle, and may result in injuries, especially in older gardeners. A backpack sprayer lets you spray down the entire garden, without experiencing any operator fatigue.

Backpack sprayers help you spread fertilizer, pesticide, or a variety of other options easily and effectively. Manual pump sprayers are hard to use, tiring, and smaller than the Kobalt backpack sprayer.

The backpack sprayer mounts to your back, and all you need to do is walk around and spray your yard or vegetable garden. The backpack system takes the effort out of your work, allowing you to treat your garden in a matter of minutes.

Full Review

The Kobalt backpack sprayer is the answer to all of your dreams. Gone are the days of using a hand pump sprayer to spray large areas on your property. The Kobalt 40V sprayer offers so many great features at a reasonable price.

Assembly is simple to do, and the unit comes packaged in an easy to open container. Included in the box are different nozzles to accommodate your spraying needs of the day. The wand is long enough to get hard to reach places and comfortable to hold.

To fill up the tank, just insert your liquid into the large opening on the back of the tank. The four gallon Kobalt sprayer’s tank is transparent to help measure easily, and comes with a strainer to protect your machine.

The 40V battery lets you spray up to 120 gallons on a single charge and recharges quickly. It generates 70 psi and can spray up to 25 feet, so you can access anywhere.

The backpack straps are heavily padded and offer all day comfort. It allows for multiple adjustments to fit you perfectly and reduce back strain. It can be heavy when loaded, so it’s best to set it on a table when filling, that way you can access the backpack straps more easily.

How to maintain your Kobat backpack sprayer?

To ensure to achieve a long-lasting sprayer, cleaning after every use is very important to the sprayer. Do a routine complete cleaning at the end of the day with a tank cleaner, or just clean water, and it will last longer.

Lubricate the o-rings at least one time in one year. During the colder months, you need to add RV antifreeze or automotive antifreeze to prevent any damage due to cold temperatures. Automotive antifreeze is less corrosive to spray equipment pumps, so that is what I recommend.

Charge the battery after every operation. This practice will help prolong the life of the battery. When charging, remove the battery from Kobalt backpack sprayer and place it in a dry location away from pets and children.

When storing the battery for a long time, make sure the battery is safely secured. Always store the battery in a dry place. The battery should be changed every one to three years, or whenever it stops holding a charge.
