3 Things To Do Around The House Before Christmas: Part 1

Ahhh Christmas! Glittery decorations, children’s smiling faces and wrapping paper everywhere. During this bustling time, your House will be filled with relatives visiting and parties happening. So to prepare, I will be sharing with you 3 things that you should do around your home before Christmas arrives! Read on for the first activity.
Get ready to welcome your guests
Christmas time means lots of people around. Friends, relatives, neighbours… everyone is going to be at your place at some point, and you have to be prepared to welcome most, or at least some, of them. So get ready and update the areas where your guests are going to spend most of their time. This will mainly be the rumpus/guest rooms and the bathrooms!
First, you will want to ensure that your guests are comfortable in your home, so check out the beds, air the mattresses and rugs, verify the locks on the doors are working so that they can have their privacy. Also check to see if your guest rooms match the rest of the house. Are these spaces a bit outdated? If so, take a few days to paint the walls and even the furniture if needed.
Then, check the wet areas: you don’t want your guests to face dirt or mould in the most contagious room of the house! So check twice before deciding that these areas are ready to welcome visitors! In order to avoid humidity issues as much as possible, I suggest that you paint your bathrooms with waterproof paint and have ample ventilation. It's also a good idea to check and see if your bathrooms need more major repairs. Have a look at this article for ideas on how to renovate your bathroom while sticking to your budget.
Once your rooms have been structurally checked and fixed, your guests will always appreciate the final touches. I recommend buying new towels for your guest bathroom, so there’s a nice matching set waiting for your visitors. Having modern and updated linen is also always appreciated, as is adequate bedroom lighting for the times when your guests might want to quietly relax alone and read a good book.
