Portland has long been a town with an incredible Music scene. From The Shins to The Decemberists, Portland has been the birthplace of some absolutely amazing bands and the town is always alive with amazing tour bands and fun shows throughout nearly every neighborhood. Not only does Portland music have a fantastic scene from which to grow and expand organically, the City is also proud to support the music that originates there through a number of events that allow the public to enjoy it. That’s why, we are going over the 5 Can’t-Miss Music Events in Portland this August. Here goes:

#1 – Concerts in the Square

27 years running, The Noon Tunes Summer Concert series has provided a stage to the best live regional and local musicians every Tuesday July through August. Starting July 11th and running to August 29th in Portland’s Downtown Pioneer Square and featuring food vendors, activities, trinket booths, and more, this is a can’t miss activity that will surely spice up any Tuesday!

#2 – Music on Main Outdoor Concert Series

#3 – Concerts in the Park

Up next is the longest running concert series yet. Portland’s Concerts in the Park has been entrancing audiences since all the way back in 1901. With more than 400 concerts taking place all across parks in Portland all summer long, what is not to love? Swing by the famous Rose Garden for a jazz event or mozy through Downtown through the multiple parks and listen to everything from classical to world music in this amazing summertime live music event. There are endless possibilities.

#4 – The Portland Beer and Music Festival

Summertime, beer, food, and music. What more do we need to say? The Portland Beer and Music Festival has it all! Held August 19th in Downtown Portland at the beautiful and historic Tiffany Center Indoor Venue from 6pm-10pm, this event has something for everyone and features 50 craft breweries, surprise guest DJ’s, and endless food options. The quintessential Portland summer is now complete!

#5 – MusicFestNW

August 26th and 27th, Downtown Portland is hosting an amazing music festival featured the likes of Beck, Iggy Pop, Nas, Father John Misty, and Spoon. With a lineup like that, there is surely something for everyone at this Portland music event, and with an all inclusive ticket for the whole weekend only costing $99, you really can’t go wrong. We will see you there!
